Terms of Use a) These terms and conditions govern the use of non-product-related vouchers/credit for activation codes (voucher codes) from Volkswagen AG (Volkswagen) which are issued by Volkswagen and can be purchased from a Volkswagen dealership. The voucher codes can be redeemed in the Volkswagen Connect Shop (web shop or In-Car Shop (where available for a specific vehicle)) for the purchase of digital products and services from Volkswagen (e.g. Car-Net (Security & Service, Guide & Inform) and  VW Connect Plus / We Connect Plus licence extensions, upgrades, mobile key) for an enabled vehicle. The details of the digital products and services available for a specific vehicle can be found using the range in the Volkswagen Connect Shop and the vehicle identification number. b) Voucher codes are not associated with a specific customer or intended for a specific product or vehicle. Voucher codes cannot be redeemed for the purchase of further voucher codes or with other Group companies of Volkswagen AG or third parties. c) The voucher codes can be used as full or partial payment for digital products or services in the payment process in the Volkswagen Connect Shop. In the event that the value of the voucher code is not enough to cover the full value of the relevant product or service, additional payment methods can be used to pay for the remaining amount. In the event that the value of the voucher code exceeds the value of the purchased product or service, the surplus amount remains on this voucher code for future use. Voucher codes can also be used for multiple individual transactions until the value of the relevant voucher code has been used up. Please visit the Volkswagen Connect Shop to check the redemption value of the voucher code. d) If a consumer cancels the purchase of a digital product or service in due time, the amount paid is refunded to the same voucher code and can be used again to purchase digital products and/or services in the We Connect Shop.e) Voucher codes expire five years after the issue date. Any credit remaining after this date is not refunded. The value of the voucher code cannot be re-loaded. Voucher codes cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative. f) Volkswagen accepts no liability for loss, theft, destruction or any other unauthorised use of the voucher code. g) Volkswagen reserves the right to request an alternative payment method if it suspects that a voucher code has been acquired or used fraudulently or if one of these Terms of Use has been breached. h) The exclusive place of jurisdiction for any and all claims arising from and associated with these Terms of Use shall be Wolfsburg, Germany, if the user is not using the voucher code as a consumer. If the user is using the voucher code as a consumer, Volkswagen may only take legal action against the user at the court with jurisdiction over the user’s domicile or ordinary place of residence. The user may take legal action against Volkswagen before the competent court for Volkswagen's headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany and any other court with jurisdiction in accordance with applicable law in this case. i) For all disputes arising from or in association with this voucher code, only the law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply; the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) shall not apply. If the user is a consumer, the aforementioned rules of this Item i do not apply, providing compulsory consumer protection provisions in accordance with the law of the state in which the consumer is domiciled or has their ordinary residence at the point when the contract is concluded obstruct the application of German law. j) Volkswagen is neither committed nor obliged to take part in a dispute resolution procedure before a consumer arbitration board. k) If you have queries or problems redeeming a voucher code, please contact Volkswagen Customer Care. In the event of any other queries or issues which arise in conjunction with a voucher code, please contact the Volkswagen dealership from whom the voucher was acquired.

To obtain upgrades, you need a Volkswagen ID user account, a valid VW Connect / We Connect contract and your primary user verification, i.e. the link between your user account and the specific vehicle. Your vehicle also needs to have the technical function, hardware and software required for the relevant upgrade. The availability of upgrades may also depend on the model year and production date. The upgrades available for the specific vehicle can be viewed by the primary user in the infotainment system In-Car Shop or the Volkswagen Connect web shop at connect-shop.volkswagen.com. Paid-for products can be purchased in the In-Car Shop and/or the Volkswagen Connect shop with the payment methods that are currently available and can be viewed there. The availability of upgrades functions may vary between the web shop and In-Car Shop. Your Volkswagen dealership is also happy to advise on questions regarding upgrades and their availability. Purchased and activated upgrades remain with the vehicle for the duration of the activation period, can be used by all drivers and cannot be transferred to other vehicles.

To use the VW Connect / We Connect services, you need a Volkswagen ID user account and to log in to VW Connect / We Connect with your username and password. In addition, a separate VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus contract must be concluded with Volkswagen AG online at www.myvolkswagen.net or via the app Volkswagen” (available in the App Store and Google Play Store). For VW Connect Plus / We Connect Plus, following vehicle handover, you have 90 days in which to register the vehicle at www.myvolkswagen.net or via the Volkswagen” app and use the services for the full duration of the agreed free period.  For customers with VW Connect and VW Connect Plus: The use of mobile online services is enabled by means of an integrated Internet connection. For the use of Internet Radio, Wi-Fi hotspot and Alexa, where available, data packages can be purchased from Cubic Telecom, our mobile communications partner, and used in the network coverage area within many European countries. The data in these packages can be used by all users and vehicle occupants. You can find information on conditions, prices and supported countries at vw.cubictelecom.com. Alternatively, you can use the Internet Radio, Wi-Fi hotspot and Alexa, where available, with a mobile device (e.g. smartphone), provided it has the ability to function as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. In this case, the corresponding function is only available subject to an existing or separate mobile phone contract between you and your mobile network operator and only within the coverage area of the respective mobile network. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad. To use the Car-Net services, you need a Volkswagen ID user account and need to log in with your username and password. A separate contract must also be agreed online with Volkswagen AG. To use the services for the full period, you have 90 days after vehicle handover in which to register the vehicle at www.myvolkswagen.net or using the Volkswagen app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store). If you register at a later date, the duration of the free period will be reduced accordingly. The ‘Guide & Inform’ mobile online services of Car-Net can only be used with the optional equipment Discover Media and Discover Pro. You also need a mobile, Internet-ready end device (e.g. a smartphone) that is capable of acting as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. Alternatively, a mobile phone with remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP) or a SIM card with a phone and data option can be used with the ‘Business’ mobile phone interface option in combination with the Discover Pro navigation system. The Car-Net services are only available with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider and only within the coverage of the mobile data network concerned. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data over the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad. Given the volume of data which arises when using Car-Net services, agreeing a data flat rate with your mobile data provider is strongly recommended. A smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and SIM card with data option with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider is required to use the free Volkswagen app. The availability of the Car-Net services may vary by country. These services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes during the contract period. Only available with the optional Discover Pro (for Passat, Arteon and Golf) or Discover Media (Golf only) navigation systems and in conjunction with the Volkswagen app. Five free mobile keys are available to start with for the Passat and the Arteon and, once the function has been purchased, five mobile keys are also available for the Golf. Mobile keys can be redeemed within the first four years of conclusion of the VW Connect / We Connect contract. The transfer of a mobile key requires a key sender identity check through the Volkswagen Ident procedure. Following installation on a compatible smartphone, the mobile key has a one-year validity period tied to the device.
