Preheating the interior while you eat breakfast, listening to podcasts and discovering your new favourite stations with the Internet Radio in your vehicle. In short: We're taking digital options in your ID. to the next level. With a wide range of smart everyday tools that are also available to you from ID. Software 3.0 with We Connect and from ID. Software 4.0 with VW Connect also available depending on equipment.1 With the Volkswagen app, you can connect your vehicle to your smartphone effortlessly and access certain vehicle functions and the vehicle status – even when you’re not in your Volkswagen.

We Connect Start - connectivity for ID. models with ID. Software 2.4 or older

If your model doesn’t yet have ID. Software 3.0 as a minimum, you can use We Connect Start’s Online Traffic Information, entertainment and remote functions. We Connect Start7 also connects you with your ID. and offers a wide range of useful benefits. Here’s how to find out which software version you’re currently using in your ID.:
Open the menu option “Setup” in the infotainment system of your ID. Browse to “System information”. The version of your ID. Software is shown in the section “ID. Software”. 

Additional functions in the In-Car Shop

Your ID. is well-connected. This allows you to download, activate or renew existing contracts for useful digital products straight from your car. The Volkswagen Connect shopOpens an external link and In-Car Shop on your infotainment system show you all the available products for your ID. If a product is available for a fee, activation is possible as soon as payment is received.Simply check the data and payment details and complete the order. The new function will be available the next time you start your electric car with an Internet connection.

To use the VW Connect (Plus), We Connect (Plus) or VW Connect (Basic / Navigation) services, you must have a Volkswagen ID user account and need to log in with your username and password. Once the Volkswagen ID user account has been successfully set up and linked to your vehicle, you can use the vehicle-, country-, software- and equipment-specific digital services for an initial contract period free of charge. For this purpose, a separate VW Connect (Plus), We Connect (Plus) or VW Connect (Basic / Navigation) contract must be concluded with Volkswagen AG online at https://www.myvolkswagen.net or via the Volkswagen” app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store). The actual length of the free contract period depends on when you activate the digital services. From the ninetieth day after initial delivery at the latest, the free initial contract period will begin to reduce automatically. Some We Connect / We Connect Plus or VW Connect / VW Connect Plus mobile online services can only be used via the Volkswagen” app. A smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and SIM card with data option with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider is required to use the free app. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad.  

The mobile online services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes during the contract period. The services included in the We Connect and We Connect Plus or VW Connect and VW Connect Plus packages may vary by country. Availability also depends on vehicle model, equipment and software version installed. This also applies to third-party services. More information is available at connect.volkswagen.com and your Volkswagen dealership. Please also take note of the current Terms and Conditions for the digital services of the ID. family.

The stated consumption and emissions data is not based on a single individual vehicle and is not part of the offer, but serves solely to facilitate comparisons between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (attachments, tyre format, etc.) could change relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. As well as weather and traffic conditions and personal driving style, these add-ons could also affect a vehicle’s fuel consumption, power consumption, CO2 emissions and performance.

The actual length of the free contract period depends on when you activate the digital services. From the ninetieth day after initial delivery at the latest, the free initial contract period will begin to reduce automatically. The use of We Connect Start mobile online services is enabled by means of an integrated internet connection. To obtain Upgrades, you need a Volkswagen ID user account, a valid VW Connect / We Connect contract and your primary user verification, i.e. the link between your user account and the specific vehicle. Your vehicle also needs to have the technical function, hardware and software required for the relevant Upgrade. The availability of Upgrades may also depend on the model year and production date. The upgrades available for the specific vehicle can be viewed by the primary user depending on the model in the infotainment system In-Car Shop or the Volkswagen Connect Shop at https://connect-shop.volkswagen.com. Paid-for products can be purchased in the In-Car Shop and/or the Volkswagen Connect shop with the payment methods that are currently available and can be viewed there. The availability of Upgrades functions may vary between the web shop and In-Car Shop. Your Volkswagen dealership is also happy to advise on questions regarding Upgrades and their availability. Purchased and activated Upgrades remain with the vehicle for the duration of the activation period, can be used by all drivers and cannot be transferred to other vehicles.
