To use the Car-Net services, you need a Volkswagen ID user account and need to log in with your username and password. A separate contract must also be concluded online with Volkswagen AG. To use the services for the full period, you have 90 days after vehicle handover in which to register the vehicle at www.myvolkswagen.net or using the Volkswagen app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store). If you register at a later date, the duration of the free period will be reduced accordingly. The “Guide & Inform” mobile online services of Car-Net can only be used with the optional equipment Discover Media and Discover Pro. You also need a mobile, Internet-ready end device (e.g. a smartphone) that is capable of acting as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. Alternatively, a mobile phone with remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP) or a SIM card with a phone and data option can be used with the “Business” mobile phone interface option in combination with the Discover Pro navigation system. The Car-Net services are only available with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider and only within the coverage of the mobile data network concerned. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data over the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad. Given the volume of data which arises when using Car-Net services, agreeing a data flat rate with your mobile data provider is strongly recommended. A smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and SIM card with data option with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider is required to use the free Volkswagen app. The availability of the Car-Net services may vary by country. These services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes during the contract period. You can find more information on Car-Net at connect.volkswagen.com and from your Volkswagen partner; for information on mobile data charges, please consult your mobile data provider.

The mobile online services for Car-Net use 2G/3G mobile networks as a technical basis, while We Connect and VW Connect use 2G/3G/LTE mobile networks. The network providers have been gradually switching off the 2G/3G mobile networks since 2020. There may be restrictions in the quality of mobile online services since this point in time. The 2G/3G mobile networks in some countries will be fully shut down from the end of 2025. It will no longer be possible to use the services for Car-Net Security & Service and Car-Net e-Remote in these countries. The mobile online services of We Connect and VW Connect remain usable with LTE, although it may be necessary to update the software version of the control unit for the built-in internet connection.

The stated consumption and emissions data is not based on a single individual vehicle and is not part of the offer, but serves solely to facilitate comparisons between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (attachments, tyre format, etc.) could change relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. As well as weather and traffic conditions and personal driving style, these add-ons could also affect a vehicle’s fuel consumption, power consumption, CO2 emissions and performance.

The e-up! is temporarily not available with individual equipment. However, readymade, already manufactured vehicles are available. Simply contact your Volkswagen dealership.

When you buy a new vehicle, you have the opportunity to use digital services from VW Connect (Plus), We Connect (Plus) or VW Connect (Basic / Navigation) for the free initial contract period. To use the VW Connect (Plus), We Connect (Plus) or VW Connect (Basic / Navigation) services, you must have a Volkswagen ID user account and need to log in with your username and password. Once the Volkswagen ID user account has been successfully set up and linked to your vehicle, you can use the vehicle-, country-, software- and equipment-specific digital services for an initial contract period free of charge. For this purpose, a separate VW Connect (Plus), We Connect (Plus) or VW Connect (Basic / Navigation) contract must be concluded with Volkswagen AG online at https://www.myvolkswagen.net or via the “Volkswagen” app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store). The actual length of the free contract period depends on when you activate the digital services. From the ninetieth day after initial delivery at the latest, the free initial contract period will begin to reduce automatically. You can view the exact contract period for your specific vehicle on myVolkswagen https://www.myvolkswagen.net.

Some We Connect / We Connect Plus or VW Connect / VW Connect Plus mobile online services can only be used via the “Volkswagen” app. A smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and SIM card with data option with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider is required to use the free app. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad.  

The mobile online services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes during the contract period. The services included in the We Connect and We Connect Plus or VW Connect and VW Connect Plus packages may vary by country. Availability also depends on vehicle model, equipment and software version installed. This also applies to third-party services.
